  • Database Developer

    Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will possess the ability to think outside the box, and work in coordination with other experienced professionals. As a database developer this individual will work on SpectorSoft's corporate products to develop and manage complex and sophisticated database platforms built using relational database technologies (SQL Server 2008).

    This position will contribute to the full lifecycle development, database development, database design, and enhancements. You will actively participate in design discussions, contribute in decision making, and provide third level technical support when necessary. (We have full time technical support teams).

    You must have excellent communication skills, ability to work in team environment, and be able to keep pace with the fast changing world of technology. This developer/engineer will work closely with other team members to design and implement the detailed requirements of the corporate products as well as support the ongoing issues with the released products.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • 7-10 years of database programming and design experience in a complex and sophisticated environment.
    • Sound understanding of SQL Server internals, architecture and RDBMS concepts.
    • Knowledge of database design and normalization.
    • Strong skills in writing efficient T-SQL code (queries and stored procedures).
    • Dynamic SQL.
    • Familiarity with object-relational mappings.
    • Cross database queries (horizontal partitioning).
    • Security, backup/restore.
    • UTF/Unicode concepts and coding skills.
    • Experience with data migrations a definite plus.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
    • Experience with commercial product development a plus.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Consultative technical sales skills and high understanding of standard business operation practices.
    • Responsible for monthly sales targets in a defined region of the United States and/or Canada.
    • Accountability to forecasting, pipeline building and retirement of quota.
    • Achieve a target goal of customer contacts per day, utilizing inbound customer inquiries and out bound calls to prospects and current customers.
    • Execute or Coordinate webinar resources, product demonstrations and evaluations for partners and customers.
    • Maintain a high level of knowledge of SpectorSoft solutions while understanding the competitive environment and industry trends.
    • Maintain accurate customer/prospect database.
    • Act as a trusted resource to your partners, supporting them in both pre and post sales situations.

    Requirements:

    • The individual must have 3+ years professional experience in direct B2B sales or selling through the channel. Experience in software industry, specifically security software is a plus.
    • Technology sales experience a plus.
    • Proven track record of prospecting and building a sales pipeline. Individual needs to take ownership of their territory.
    • Ability to achieve sales goals while maintaining a focus on the customers and partners in your territory. Motivated to hit the number.
    • Disciplined work ethic and focus. Roles requires individual who can stay on task and lead by example.
    • Individual needs to be a contributor to the team. Actively participate in team meetings, share ideas for success and use experience to brainstorm out of the box strategies.
    • Energetic self-starter who engages customers, prospects and partners with a consultative sales approach. Demonstrate the features and benefits while tailoring the message to the specific customers’ needs.
    • Proven time and account management skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated history of accurate forecasting and pipeline management.
    • Education: Four year degree preferred or equivalent experience
    • Experience with CRM, specifically SalesForce and Microsoft office suite
    • Bilingual is a plus

  • Software Engineer

    As a member of a software development team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the core functionality of products to capture and record events on computers, as they are occurring. This requires the ability to understand and adapt to the rapidly changing environments that modern systems encounter. Responsibilities also include writing user interfaces to aggregate and display collected data, as well as providing statistical information to networked components.

    The successful candidate should have:

    • Minimum of 4 years Windows programming in C/C++
    • Minimum of 2 years Windows programming technologies such as Win32, WMI, COM, .NET
    • Minimum of 2 years working with MS Visual Studio
    • Knowledge of operating systems internals, network programming (WinSock, etc) and the Internet
    • Experience with multi-threaded design
    • Experience in writing system-level software is a big plus (Windows internals, device drivers, disassemblers, debuggers)
    • Experience developing commercial software applications is beneficial
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • An inquisitive nature. This position requires that all aspects of a system can be analyzed and understood at every level.
