SpectorSoft Monitoring Technology Helps INCA Save Money, Track Laptop Use
Dominican Republic Company Uses Spector 360 to "Find Out What's Real"
VERO BEACH, FL - January 7, 2008 - SpectorSoft Corporation, the worldwide leader in Internet Monitoring and Surveillance Software, announced the availability of a Case Study in which Spector 360, its flagship employee monitoring software product, is shown to fill an information void faced by countless organizations across the nation and around the world.
The Case Study, "Spector 360 Helps INCA Keep It Real," describes how the IT department at INCA (Industrias Nacionales), was unable to respond to management requests for data about employee use of the Internet and their PCs - including laptops -- and how Spector 360 helped provide the answers. INCA is a 60-year-old company specializing in steel construction products headquartered near Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
"There was a whole lot we didn't know about," said Franklin Arosemena, INCA Sr. IT Manager. "We began to think we needed a forensic tool ... something to let us know where, who, how."
After checking with Bizion, INCA's technology provider, Spector 360 was proposed as the ideal solution to INCA's information void.
Spector 360 records employees' web sites visited, emails sent and received, chats and instant messages, keystrokes typed, files transferred, documents printed and applications run. In addition, through a first of its kind surveillance-like camera recording tool, Spector 360 shows in exact visual detail what an employee does every step of the way.
Further, Spector 360 takes the recorded Internet and computer activities, feeds that information into a database, and provides more than 50 easy-to-read built-in reports - with unlimited customization potential -- to answer questions that INCA previously found problematic, such as:
Thanks to Spector 360, INCA's Arosemena was able to determine that employees were accessing inappropriate websites with company laptops taken offsite, and also that a large number of PCs on its network were vulnerable to potentially catastrophic attacks because of the absence of a security program the company incorrectly believed was installed.
INCA also used Spector 360 to identify cost savings opportunities surrounding printing procedures, and cleared up a concern over what on the surface appeared to be an inordinate amount of files transferred by one employee.
Arosemena provided perhaps the most telling, bottom-line description of Spector 360's impact at INCA when he said that with the monitoring software "you find out what's real."
