New for 2008! SpectorSoft's eBlaster Makes It Easier Than Ever To Know Everything They're Doing Online by Simply Checking Email

Remote Options/Settings Capability Bolsters "Install and Walk Away" Concept

VERO BEACH, FL - January 22, 2008 - SpectorSoft Corporation, the worldwide leader in Internet Monitoring and Surveillance Software, announced the release of a major upgrade to eBlaster, for almost a decade the industry standard in remote monitoring software for parents and employers. Effective immediately, eBlaster 6.0 is available and shipping.

eBlaster 6.0 adds several significant features to the best-in-class monitoring software program. Highlighting the list of new items is the ability to change eBlaster options and settings from anywhere program owners have an Internet connection, eliminating the need to return to the PC on which eBlaster is installed.

"Version 6.0 represents a real innovative change in eBlaster," said SpectorSoft President C. Douglas Fowler. "eBlaster has been the remote monitoring market leader since inception, and the new eBlaster for 2008 includes enhancements that further solidify it as the software of choice when parents or employers need to know what is happening on their PCs, even if they are thousands of miles away."

eBlaster is the only remote monitoring software capable of capturing and recording the emails, chats, and instant messages of children or employees and then forwarding an EXACT copy to any email address.

Robust and secure for the most demanding businesses, yet easy enough for computer novices to install and use effectively, eBlaster combines Instant Notification features and a Comprehensive Scheduled Activity Report to enable users to be copied via email on the emails, chats, instant messages, and sensitive words and phrases of their children or employees.

In addition to the new remote options/settings capability -- reinforcing the program's "install and walk away" appeal - eBlaster for 2008 boasts several additional new features.

Summary of What's New in eBlaster for 2008:

  • Change Options and Settings Remotely
As highlighted above, once eBlaster for 2008 is installed on the PC to be monitored, the program owner need not return to that PC to change the destination email address, or the frequency of reports. Anywhere the eBlaster owner has an Internet connection, they can logon to change any option or setting desired.
  • Web Site Blocking
Inappropriate web sites can be blocked by name immediately when they appear in reports. If the eBlaster owner notices a visit to a web site they don't approve of, they can block future access directly from the eBlaster Activity Report.
  • Chat/IM Contact Blocking
eBlaster owners can block all chat and instant messaging with specific people, or limit conversations to specific people only. If a parent notes their child is chatting with an adult stranger they're uncomfortable with, the parent can block that person from further talking with their child, protecting the youth from a potential online predator.
  • Online Searches
The new eBlaster records searches made using Google, AOL, MSN, and Yahoo -- plus many other search engines -- and adds the recorded searches to its Activity Reports. Parents or employers can see what children or employees are searching for on the Internet, and how often they search for these topics.
  • Screen Snapshots with Keyword Alerts
With the inclusion of a screen snapshot to each keyword alert received, eBlaster owners can see exactly what the monitored individual saw. This powerful new feature provides the program owner with a clear picture of what their children or employees were looking at when the alert was triggered.
  • MySpace Activity
All activity on the popular but potentially dangerous MySpace web site is reported separately on eBlaster Activity Reports. Parents or employers can see how many accounts their children or employees have, what is posted in their profiles, how much time they spend on MySpace, who they invite as friends, and the people to whom they send and receive emails.

eBlaster 6.0 supports all versions of Windows Vista -- Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate -- whether a user has upgraded to Vista or received it pre-installed. eBlaster 6.0 also supports Windows XP Home Edition or Professional, Windows 2000, and Windows NT.

eBlaster 6.0 is regularly priced at $99.95. Registered owners of eBlaster Versions 5.0 or 5.1 can purchase eBlaster 6.0 at a special upgrade price of $69.95.
