Control Center
Control Center Properties allow you to verify or change how a Server Component connects to the Spector 360 Database. Choose the method that makes sense for your organization in terms of security. The component (a Windows service) needs an account to access first the computer where the database resides, and then the database itself. When you supply credentials here, the component automatically receives permission (as appropriate for the service) to access the database.

The System Administrator (SA) password to the database is required to change this information. |
To change the account used by the server:
Select one of three account types:
Windows Local System Account - Select this option to use the Windows Local System Account to access the database. This method is sufficient if the service and the database are on the same computer. There's no need to enter a User Name and Password with this option.
Windows Network Account - Select this option to use an existing network account to access the database. The account must have Administrator-level privileges on the computer where the database is installed in order to make the connection and access the database. Enter the User name in the format DOMAIN\USERNAME, as shown in the illustration above.
SQL Server Credentials - Select this option to allow the server (Windows service) to run under the Local System Account where it is installed, but to access the database using a SQL Server user name and password. You may create new SQL credentials here, using any user name and password; the authentication will automatically be added to the database.
If you choose a Windows Network Account OR SQL Server Credentials, enter the user name and password (these fields are dimmed for a Local System Account).
User Name - Either a network user account name DOMAIN\USERNAME or a SQL Server authentication user name.
Password - Either the password for the network account or for the SQL Server account.
Confirm Password - Type the password again.
Click OK to continue.
Enter the SA password for the Spector 360 Database. Click OK and wait. The component account information is now changed.
