Setting SQL Server Service Credentials

Control Center

During setup of Server Components, you have the option to install the SQL Server service under the Local System Account or under a Network Account. You can change the service credentials, or change the type of account the database service uses to access files. Use the Control Center > Properties > Data Vault panel. In the "Database Storage" section, click the Set Credentials button to display the Account Information box.

The SQL Server Service requires access to the File Storage system where Screen Snapshot and Email Attachment files are stored. If the SQL Server service (the Microsoft SQL Server 360 Database instance) and the File Storage location folders are installed on DIFFERENT computers, you need to make sure the service has access to the folders.

To use the Local System Account:

If the SQL Server database and the File Storage location (C:\Spector360Data) are on the same computer, the database service can simply use the Local System Account to access Screen Snapshot and Email Attachment files.  Leave BOTH the user name and password BLANK.

To use Network credentials:

If the the SQL Server database is installed on a computer separate from the File Storage location  (C:\Spector360Data), you need the database service to use Network Account credentials that will have Administrator-level access on the File Storage computer. Supply the Windows User Name and password for an account with appropriate access.
