Manage Computers
When you have hundreds, dozens, or even just more than five computers to record, it makes sense to manage the computers as a group instead of one at a time. Spector 360 Group Management allows you to treat multiple Client computers as one. With a single action, you can install or change the configuration of all Clients in the group.

It's possible to install the Client on multiple computers without using Group Management. See Installing in Batch. |
Spector 360 automatically groups computers you've already added to the Control Center by Domain or Workgroup. In addition, you can define your own groups that include any computers. To get started, you need to activate Group Management.

For Group Management to be successful, the Control Center Network Properties must be set for:
Load a computer list on startup. Loading a list on startup is the default, and even if you use the Active Directory or Discover Computers to create your computer list, you are likely still loading the list on startup.
Background Computer Updating. This ensures that delivery and status tasks will take place in the background so multiple tasks (needed for groups) don't time-out and fail. More...
To check background updating:
Right-click the Control
Center icon and choose Properties.
Click the Network tab.
Make sure Background Update of Control Center Views is checked.

To turn on Group Management functionality:
Right-click Control Center and select Properties to open the Control Center Properties box.
Click the Control Center Server tab.
Click to check Enable Computer Group Management.
Click Apply and then click OK to close the Control Center Properties box.
Once you complete these steps, you can treat all computers on your "HOME" domain or "MARKETING" workgroup as one computer. Check it out by selecting Manage Computers and clicking on Show Groups Only at the bottom of the right pane. See Manage Groups of Computers for more about reading group status and the "Show" options.
