Configure Computers
You can instruct the Client to scan activity for Keywords. When it finds a match to a keyword, the Client can initiate an "Alert" email. Define keywords to watch for using the Keywords Settings in the Deployment Utility or in Client Settings. .
Add keywords one at a time or import a list of keywords.
Each Keyword will set off an alert
Keywords - The list of keywords already defined by using Add or Import.
Add - Click to open a Keyword box and enter a keyword or phrase. Use any alphanumeric characters, including spaces. For example, you can use "John Smith" or "Company XYZ Budget 2007" as a keyword. Spaces are assumed to be an AND operator, so the Client looks for "John AND Smith," not John OR Smith. Smaller, common words will only generate a flood of alerts. See Keyword Tips to get ideas.
In the Keyword box, select Match whole word only if you want the keyword to match exactly, not as a partial of another word. The whole word is any word framed by non-alphanumeric characters or spaces. For example, a whole word match to "sex" will generate an alert when any of the following are found:
sex
**SEX**
www.sex.com
Clear Match whole word only to find the word within a word. For example, without a whole word match, "sex" would match any of the following and set off more alerts than you care to receive.
sexy
Sexton
Essex
Click OK to close the box and add the word to the list.
Delete - Select a word in the Keywords list and click Delete to remove the word from the list. When the Client is reinitialized and when Windows restarts, the word will no longer cause alerts.
Import - Click this button to navigate to and select a text keyword list and import it. The imported list is appended to keywords already in the list. More...
Export - Click this button to create a text file (formatted to be imported) from the existing keyword list. Keep a backup file of keywords to re-use if you move or uninstall/reinstall your Control Center. More...

Any new keywords go into effect AFTER you re-initialize the Client AND the user logs off and logs on again. |
To specify where to look for keywords:
You can specify WHERE you want the Client to look for keywords. To focus on particular problem areas, or to avoid too many Keyword Alerts, you may choose to limit the activities the Client scans. For example, a Web Site page can produce many alerts on the word "sex" that don't signify nearly as much trouble as when produced from Keystrokes or Email content.
Scan Chat and Instant Messages for Keywords - Check to scan the content of chat and IM conversations for a keyword match. Clear to skip Chat/IM conversations.
Scan Email for Keywords - Check to scan the content (body) of sent and received email for a keyword match. Clear to skip email.
Scan Web Site Addresses for Keywords - Check to scan web site URLs and domains for keywords. Clear to skip web site addresses.
Scan Web Site Pages for Keywords - Check to scan all content of web site pages for a keyword match. Clear to skip web page content.
Scan Keystrokes for Keywords - Check to scan the content of all keystrokes typed (following any edits or deletion) in any application. Clear to skip keystrokes.
To take action when a keyword is detected:
You can increase frequency of screen Snapshots on a Client when a keyword alert is generated. This provides a better view of what was happening when the alert was generated. This setting temporarily overrides the Snapshot settings.
Capture Snapshots on Alert - Check to change the Snapshot configuration on a keyword alert. Clear to have Snapshot recording proceed as configured by the Snapshot settings.
Every n seconds for n seconds - Specify the frequency and duration at which to take Snapshots. The first number sets the frequency; default is one Snapshot every 5 seconds. The second number sets the duration; default is for 60 seconds. After the duration is up, Snapshot recording proceeds as configured by the Snapshot settings. to send alerts.
Note: If Snapshot recording is disabled in the Screen Snapshot Settings, you can select Capture Snapshots on Alert to activate Snapshots temporarily. If you are concerned about Snapshot file storage, you may want to use ONLY Capture Snapshots on Alert instead of continual Snapshot recording.
