Configure Computers

By default the Client records ALL email activity that it detects on a computer, but does not capture email attachments. Change the email recording settings in the Email panel of the Deployment Utility wizard before installation, or from the Client Settings - Email panel after installation. The settings are the same in each case.  

To enable/disable Email Activity recording:

Scan ONLY Inbox for pre-existing new email - Check to capture unread Exchange/MAPI email only in the user's Inbox folder. Clear the checkbox to capture unread messages in ALL folders in the user's Exchange mailbox.

AOL, Webmail, IMAP
The Client records AOL, Webmail, and incoming IMAP email when the message is opened for reading by the user. The Client does NOT record attachments to AOL or Webmail messages.

To capture Email Attachments

Some email messages have file attachments: a picture, an Excel document, another email. By default, the Client does NOT capture attachments. You can instruct the Client to save files attached to SMTP/POP or Microsoft Exchange email. This allows you to view information about and even open the attachment itself.

Email attachments use disk space!
Because email attachments can be large and numerous, recording all attachments will use up disk space on the Client computer AND on the Data Vault computer for a large network. Use the Filter options to limit which attachments you capture.
