Configure Computers
By default, the Client records any peer-to-peer, FTP, or HTTP upload/download activity on network computers. You can turn off or fine-tune File Transfer recording on the Files Transferred panel of the Deployment Utility wizard before Client installation, or from Client Settings after installation.
To enable Files Transferred recording:
A new Files Transferred configuration goes into effect when any involved applications (Web browser, music down load program) are stopped and restarted.

Enable Capture File Transferred - Check this option to record File Transfer activity. Clear the check box to disable recording of Files Transferred.
To change Advanced File Transfer settings:
Advanced - Click to open the Advanced box. A message warns not to change advanced settings, and normally you will not need to.
You can adjust the Client to monitor File Transfers at non-standard ports, and you can turn off HTTP uploads. Change these settings ONLY if you are sure you will not compromise the Client's ability to record, or if directed by SpectorSoft Technical Support.

Gnutella Ports - The Client monitors Gnutella at ports 6346 and 6347 (separated by a space). Applications that use Gnutella make file transfers via HTTP and may communicate on a variety of other ports. Enter additional port numbers separated by a space.
FTP Ports - File Transfer Protocol (FTP) commonly runs on two ports, 20 and 21. Port 20 is a data stream which transfers the data between the client and the server. Port 21 is the control stream and is the port where commands are passed to the FTP server. Enter any additional port numbers separated by a space.
Capture HTTP Uploads - By default, the Client captures files uploaded from your computer via HTTP, which may include web activity already captured by the Web Sites Visited recording tool. Clear this option to limit the recorded upload activity to FTP and other protocols. The Client will still capture HTTP downloads.
