Configure Computers
You can verify or change Client communication with all Servers using the Deployment Utility or from Client Settings after the Client is installed. The Server Settings panel takes its settings from server locations provided at installation and default settings (ports, send interval, etc.).
Normally, you will change these settings only if you move a Server Component, or if a Server is having difficulty communicating with a particular Client computer. Be sure to read How the Client Works before changing these settings, and keep these points in mind:
To change Primary Server settings:
Each Client periodically queries the Primary Server for licensing validation. If communication with the Primary Server is lost or was never established, the Client will not upload data and recording will stop.

Server Name - The computer name or IP address of the computer where the Primary Server is installed. Change the computer name in this field only if the Primary Server has been installed on a different computer.
Port - The default IP port address for communication with the Primary Server is port 16770. You can change the port by entering a different number. The Server Port configuration in this panel must match the Port configuration in the Control Center Properties for the Primary Server.
Use Static IP Address - Check if the Primary Server is installed on a computer with a static IP address (recommended). Clear to rely on the network's name resolution.
Server IP - The IP address of the computer where the Primary Server is installed. Click Edit to change the address.
Edit - Opens the IP:Port box where you can change the Primary Server's IP address. If the Primary Server has been moved since initial installation, you will need to change this address and reinitialize (push) ALL Clients. If you don't know the IP address of the Primary Server computer, enter the computer name in the lower field and click Resolve. The IP address for the computer will be displayed in the upper field. Click OK to set your change.

To change Data Vault Server settings:
Each Client uploads recorded events to the Data Vault Server. This section instructs the Client how to communicate with and send data to the Data Vault.

Server Name - The computer name or IP address of the computer where the Data Vault service is installed. Change the name if the Data Vault service has been moved to another computer.
Server Port - The IP port address where the Client attempts to communicate with the Data Vault Server. The default is port 16769. Do NOT change the port unless there is a network conflict. This port must match the port specified in Control Center Properties for the Data Vault.
Use Static IP Address - The Data Vault works best on a computer using a static IP address. If the Data Vault computer does not have a static IP address, the Client must be able to resolve the Data Vault computer name to an IP address.
Server IP - The IP address of the computer where the Data Vault service is installed. Click the Edit button to change the IP address (see above).
Send Interval - How often the Client attempts to send data to the Data Vault Server. The default is every 240 seconds.
Max Send Period - How long the connection from the Client to the Data Vault Server lasts. The default connection period is 30 seconds.
To set the Client listening port:
Each Client listens for Server communication at port 2468. Do NOT change the port unless there is a conflict on your network.

To change Control Center Server settings:
Each Client communicates its status with the Control Center Server (installed with the Control Center application), allowing the Control Center to install, manage and re-configure the Client installation.

Server Name - The computer name or IP address of the computer where the Control Center service is installed.
Server Port - The IP port address where the Client attempts to communicate with the Control Center The default is port 16768. Do NOT change the port unless there is a network conflict.
Use Static IP Address - The Control Center works best on a computer using a static IP address. If the Control Center computer does not have a static IP address, the Client must be able to resolve the Control Center computer name to an IP address.
Server IP - The IP address of the Control Center computer. Click the Edit button to change the IP address (see above).
Send Interval - How often the Client attempts to communicate with the Control Center and update its status. The default is every 300 seconds.
To change Web Filter Server settings:
If you are using server filtering, the Web Filter Server supplies Website Filtering rules to Clients before they go online. Clients can only access sites allowed by the filter.

Server Name - The computer name or IP address of the computer where the Web Filter Server is installed. Change the name if the server has been installed on a different computer.
Server Port - The IP port selected on installation of the server. The default is always port 16771. Change the port ONLY if there is a conflict on your network. This port must match the port specified in Control Center Properties for the WebFilter Server.
Use Static IP Address - Check if the server resides on a computer with a static IP address. This is the recommended setting. If the server does not use a static IP address, the Client MUST be able to resolve the computer name to an IP address.
Server IP - The IP address of the computer where the Data Vault is installed. Click the Edit button to change the IP address (see above).
