You can check the status of and control Data Vault settings from the Control Center Properties.  Right-click the Control Center, select Properties, and then click on the Data Vault tab. Remember, one Control Center controls one Data Vault Service and one Database location.

To view or change Data Vault Server properties:

The top of the Data Vault Properties panel allows you to move the Data Vault Server, change the IP port on which it listens for Clients, stop the service, or view the Data Vault Server log.

To view or change Database Storage properties:

The middle portion of the Data Vault tab under Control Center Properties allows you to configure the Database storage.

When you change the Server, Dashboard users will not be able to aggregate data from the older Server location with newly recorded data. To maintain data from a previous SQL Server instance, you must  (a) stop the Data Vault service (b) create a backup of the database at the existing server (c) restore the data at the new server location, and (d) restart the Data Vault service.  Remember, a Control Center can manage only one Data Vault service and one database.

To view or change Snapshot/Attachment Encryption:

At the bottom of the Data Vault properties tab, you can choose to encrypt the data the Data Server passes to the File Storage system. Encryption makes it impossible to open or view the files without using the Dashboard.

To view the Data Vault version:

The currently installed version of the Data Vault is displayed at the bottom of the Data Vault Properties panel.
