Manage Computers
You can remove the Client software from a monitored computer either remotely from the Control Center or locally at the Client computer. If you installed the Client remotely, you can uninstall the Client remotely. You may need to remove the Client Recorder manually at the Client computer if:
The Client computer is no longer connected to the network.
Network changes are preventing Control Center / Client communication.
To uninstall the Client from the Control Center:
Open the Control Center and select the Manage Computers view.
Right-click on the Client computer (or group) where you wish to uninstall in the right pane.
Select Uninstall Spector Client.
From the Uninstall Options window select:
Use Windows Task Scheduling Services to assign the task to the Client's Windows Task Manager. A second box asks you to uninstall immediately or Set the Uninstall Schedule.
Use Spector Client Services to have the Client service installed on the client execute the uninstall task. This option will uninstall the Client immediately; you cannot set a time schedule for the install.
Check Restart Client Following Task Execution if you want the client computer to restart automatically.
If you have installed a Viewer with the Client, at the Windows desktop, press the key-combination and enter the password to open the viewer. In the Viewer, open the File menu and select Uninstall.
If there is no Viewer on the Client, use the SPUninst program provided with your Control Center installation:
Copy the spuninst.exe program from the Control Center computer Spector 360 program folder (C:\Program Files\SpectorSoft\Spector 360\spuninst.exe) to a medium accessible by the Client (network drive, CD, removable media, etc.).
From the local Client computer, run the spuninst.exe program. Double-click the SPSetup.exe icon or select the program from the Windows Run dialog box.
An Authentication window appears. In the dialog box, enter the serial number and password (if used) and then click OK.
Click OK to reboot the computer.
Alternatively, run spunist.exe from a command line (Start > Run > cmd ) using parameters. Use this format:
spuninst.exe /s<serial number> /p<password>
/s – serial number used to install the Client (Required)
/p – password configured for the Client Install (Required if a password was configured)
/r - computer will NOT reboot (Optional)
/q - removal runs in quiet mode with no user prompts required (Optional)
