Managing Your Installation

A Signature File updates the Client Recorder software. SpectorSoft constantly enhances its recording capability to keep up with changes in web-provided email and chat/IM, as well as the applications that might compromise stealth. The signature file updates:

The Signature File updates the WebMail column in Manage Computers. When you make this update, the Primary Server automatically updates all Clients.

 To update signature files:

  1. From the Primary Server computer, open the Primary Server Administrator window by double-clicking the icon in the notification area.

  1. Click Updates.
The Select Update Method Dialog Box is displayed.

  2. Select an update method and click Next. Choose Update via Internet if the computer is connected to the Internet, and choose Update Manually if it is not (or if you have received a Signature file from SpectorSoft Technical support).

To update via Internet:

  1. Select Update via Internet  to import the signature automatically. Click Next and then Finish.

  1. After the file is updated, click OK at the Successful Update System message.

To update manually:

Use the Update Manually  option if the computer has no access to the Internet, or if you have received an updated Signature file from SpectorSoft Technical Support.

  1. Check your current Webmail Revision number in the Manage Computers view, then contact SpectorSoft by email, by telephone, or at our web site to request the latest Signature file.

  2. After you receive the Signature file, go back to Step 1 above and select the Update Manually option. Click Next.

  1. A revision number is automatically entered for the file. If this number is not correct, type in the number for the Webmail revision, as given to you by SpectorSoft. Click Browse and navigate to the location of the Signature file (.INI) you received (the names vary) and then click Open.

  1. Click Finish. Click OK to confirm the update request.
