Server
Your serial number allows you to register Spector 360. Registration allows SpectorSoft to send you an unlock code. The unlock code enables the Primary Server to allow installation and recording on the number of Client Recorder licences you purchased.
You need to register your serial number when you:
Install Spector 360 the first time
Purchase additional Client licenses to record more computers
Install a major product upgrade
If you are installing for the first time, make sure you register and unlock before installing Clients. It's possible to complete the Server Components installation without registering, but you will not be able to install the Client Recorder. Each Client you attempt to install will have its license validated by the Primary Server.
If you are adding Clients or upgrading, you will not need a new serial number, but you will need a new unlock code to update your registration.
When you purchase Spector 360, SpectorSoft sends the Technical Contact at your organization a confirmation email containing your serial number and the number of Client licenses you purchased. Keep this serial number in a safe place. In addition to "unlocking" Spector 360 for use, the serial number gives you access to:

If you installed the Server Components on a computer connected to the Internet, you had the opportunity to register your serial number and "unlock" the product as part of the installation process. See the Spector 360 Deployment Guide for complete details. If you need to register post-installation, or if you have purchased additional software licenses and need to re-register, there are several options.
To register or update your registration:
Go online - Open the SpectorSoft Registration page to register directly. Have your serial number and registration code ready.
Use the Primary Server - Double-click the Primary Server icon on the Windows task bar (where the Primary Server is installed). Click the Register SN button, and then click the Register button. SpectorSoft will send the unlock code by email to the registered Spector 360 owner.
As soon as you register, SpectorSoft sends an Unlock Code by email to the Technical Contact at your organization. It takes just a few minutes. You will use this code to "unlock" and begin using Spector 360.

If you do not receive an unlock code SpectorSoft may already have an email address on file for your serial number, and the Unlock Code will be sent to that email address. If you did not purchase the product from SpectorSoft, check with your reseller to see if the reseller registered your serial number for you. |
To unlock the product:
Open the email message from SpectorSoft that contains your Unlock Code.
Copy the Unlock Code (with or without the square brackets) from the email and paste it into the field provided in the Serial Number Registration dialog box.
Click Unlock Serial Number.
Click OK
in the Validate License message.
The Primary Server is now enabled for the number of Client licenses
you purchased.
