Configure Computers
The Control Center's Configure Computers view lists computers that (a) have been added to Manage Computers, (b) are detected by on the network, and (c) have a Client Recorder installed or pending installation.
The Configure Computers view allows you to:
Change installed Client settings
Start or stop recording
Disable/enable a type of activity recording
Restart a Client computer
View logs
Computers do not appear in this list until you have begun the Client installation process.
Icons identify the state of the computer in the list:

For each computer in this list, Manage Computers displays:
Computer Name - The computer's network name.
Domain or Group - The computer's Domain or Workgroup name, or, if Group Management is enabled, the computer's assigned Group (which by default is the domain).
Description - Computer description, if any, from the computer's System Properties.
OS - Windows Operating System version number.
State
- Recording state of the Client:
Pending: Installation is scheduled.
Recording: Client is actively recording.
Log Out: User is not logged in.
Disabled: Client is installed but recording has been stopped.

Tool State - In each column, displays
the current state for each recording tool: Web, Keystrokes, Chat,
Email, Screen Snapshots, Program Activity, (Xfer) File Transfer, Document
Tracking, and Network Activity:
Yes: Recording function is enabled.
No: Recording function is disabled.
There are four ways to access Configure Computer menu options: (1) Right-click Configure Computers in the left pane for the first menu shown below, (2) right-click a blank area of the right pane for the second menu, (3) right-click on a computer in the right pane for the third menu, or (4) use the Action menu at the top of the window. The available menu options are listed alphabetically and described briefly below.

All Tasks - Opens a sub-menu of functions. See below.
Arrange Icons - Automatically arranges icons.
Export List - Exports the current computer list as a text file. More...
Help - Opens this Administrator's Guide.
Line up Icons - Automatically aligns the icons.
New Window from Here - Opens a new window of the current view, useful when you are managing and configuring many Clients. Use the Window menu to navigate between windows.
Properties - Shows Computer and Configure Info for the currently selected computer.
Refresh - Refreshes the Client data.
View - Allows you to customize the Configure Computers list. You can add/remove columns, select large/small icons, list and detail. By default, all columns are shown.
When you right-click in the left pane or use the Action menu, the All Tasks sub-menu displays the following functions:
Delayed Settings Summary - When you are updating the Client Settings for a Group, opens a box showing computers that haven't been updated yet
Show Groups Only - Lists only groups (domains if no groups have been defined) of computers in the right pane.
Show Group Computers - Lists only the computers in a single group (or domain).
Show All Computers - Lists all computers in all groups (domains).
Find Computer - Opens a box that lets you search for a Client within the loaded computer list. More...
When you right-click on a computer or group in the Configure Computers right pane, the All Tasks sub-menu provides these functions:
Client Settings - Opens the Client Settings box where you can change the recording configuration for the selected computer or group. More...
Start Recording - Client begins recording immediately.
Stop Recording - Client stops recording immediately.
View Log File - View the Client log file in order to solve problems or to relay information to technical support. More...
Restart Computer - Restart the Client computer system.
Find Computer - Opens a box that lets you search for a Client within the loaded computer list. More...

A "Start" or "Stop Recording" command may execute without an immediate success response due to potential network issues, such as time-outs. Simply wait for the Control Center's background updating to automatically check and update the status of the computer when communication resumes. |
