Multiple Data Vaults

The Data Vault components — Spector 360 Databases, Data Vault Server, File Storage location — are normally installed together. However, if you have an extremely large installation or need to record users at geographically remote offices, you can install the Data Vault Server at various locations to receive and process recording at those locations more efficiently. Consult the Administrator's Guide for more help. When you install more than one Data Vault Server, keep these points in mind:

• Each DV Server needs to be installed with Network account credentials to ensure access to a centralized File Storage Location and the Spector 360 Databases.

• Each DV Server must be configured to route data to the centralized databases. You can set this up during installation and change it from the Control Center Data Vault Properties settings.

• Each Data Vault Server requires its own Control Center Server.

• A Dashboard user anywhere on the network can access the centralized databases to view recordings.

• Be sure to contact SpectorSoft Technical Support for help in setting up a distributed deployment such as this.

Note: Keep in mind that all components need to communicate with each other, and that separating them may affect data processing.
