Deployment Overview and Checklist

There are two main steps to a Spector 360 deployment: (1) Install the Server Components and (2) Install the Clients.

Step 1: Install Server Components

First, install the Server Components (Windows services and applications) at a central computer. Be sure to register your serial number and unlock Spector 360 during or following installation of these components.

If you are new to Spector 360, we recommend installing all servers on a single computer. It doesn't have to be an actual "server," just a computer on the network with plenty of free disk space. See How Spector 360 Works.

Step 2: Install the Client on network computers

After installing the Server Components, you will use the Control Center (a Server Component application) to list your network computers and deploy the Client to the computers you wish to record. The Client is a hidden program that records all activity on a computer. Once the Client is installed and recording, you will be able to use the Dashboard to monitor activity on the computers.

For successful installation of the Client, you may need to adjust your endpoint antivirus software settings. See Configuring Antivirus to Ignore Spector 360.
