Problem
As parents, we are concerned about the amount of time our son is spending on the Internet, and we are especially wary of the popular web site MySpace. We don't know who he is talking to, and whether or not chatting is turning into potentially dangerous meetings. We don't want to curb his use of the Internet unnecessarily, but we want to ensure he is being responsible.
Solution
Review recorded MySpace information to gain an insight into how he is behaving online, who he is talking to, and how he is portraying himself there. Make sure to read any pertinent email messages and instant messages to find out if he's planning to meet any of these new "friends". Follow these steps.
Problem
We understand that every now and then someone "runs an errand" online, but we want to discourage "hanging out" online as well as flagrant misuse. How can we tell if someone is surfing for more than 15 minutes at a stretch during business hours? We're not terribly concerned with off-hour usage.
Solution
Spector Pro provides an overall summary of user activity according to a specified time period. Review User Activity to see who's wandering beyond the boundaries. Once you identify an "overuser", review specific information about that person's behavior patterns within each type of activity. You might even want to block access to the Internet, certain sites or programs. Follow these steps.
