A keyword is a word or phrase that you want Spector Pro to detect whenever it is typed in a program, contained in a chat / IM or email, or appears in a web page or online search. You must create a list of keywords before Spector Pro can begin detecting and recording them. You may increase the frequency of snapshots when a keyword is detected, and receive an email notification about the keyword detected, while you are at a remote location.

Spector Pro is "on alert" at all times, emailing you a report of when, where and how a keyword has been used. You might discover what they really want for their birthdays, or a web site that you would rather block.

By default, Spector Pro scans for keywords in chat / IM conversations, email messages, web site addresses and pages, and in keystrokes typed. To learn more about the settings that affect what you view in this window, see Introduction to Keywords. |
The Keywords Detected event window uses a Navigate / Detail and Summary pane design. Information displays in the lower Summary and Detail panes for the event(s) highlighted in the upper Navigate pane. You may change the order in which columns are arranged or how information is sorted within a column.
Navigate Pane (upper)
Each keyword detection is considered one recorded event. Events are arranged in groups and sub groups and sub-sub groups, each of which is displayed like a branch on a tree. By default events are grouped first by date, although you may choose to group the events differently.
Click on the plus (+) sign, which then becomes a minus (-) sign, next to the Keywords icon to expand the tree and view each date for which activity was recorded.
Click on the plus (+) sign next to a date to expand the tree and view each keyword detected on that date.
Summary Pane (lower)
Click the Summary tab to view this pane. The Summary pane displays totals for the recorded event(s) highlighted in the Navigate pane. By navigating up or down in the tree above, you display a wider or narrower view of events.

For example:
Select the icon at the top of the tree to display totals for all keywords that have been detected.
Select a particular date, for example Fri, Aug 25, 2006, to display totals for the keywords detected on that date.
Select a particular keyword, for example drugs, to display totals only for that word.
Detail Pane (lower)
Click the Details tab to view this pane. The Detail pane displays specific information about each keyword detection that is highlighted in the Navigate pane. By navigating up or down in the tree above, you can display a wider or narrower view of events.

For example:
