Sample Blocking Schedule

Let's say you want to set up a schedule so that you only block Internet access on the family computer when the children are unsupervised, from 3 p.m. when they get home from school, until 6 p.m. when you get home from work. The following blocking schedule should work well for you.

To set up a blocking schedule:

  1. Open the Block Internet Access pane:

  2. Click the Blocking Schedule button. The When to Block Internet Access window opens.

  1. Click Only block during the following times (otherwise all times)  to add a checkmark. The rest of the window is activated.

  2. Click Add. The Block Period window opens.

  1. Start Blocking Day - Use the dropdown list to select Monday.

  2. Start Blocking Time - Use the arrows to select 03:00 PM.

  3. End Blocking Day - Use the dropdown list to select Monday.

  4. End Blocking Time - Use the arrows to select 06:00 PM.

  1. Click OK to accept the entries. The Block Period window closes. The new block period appears in the Schedule list, and the grid displays red for the selected interval.

  1. Repeat this procedure for each blocking period.

  2. Click OK to save the changes you have made, or Cancel to discard them. The Settings window closes.
