This option allows you to create and manage
rules for captured incoming and outgoing email. You can:
create email filtering rules
to record or ignore sent or received emails
add, delete, edit or change
the priority order of the email filter rules
either record or ignore emails
to which email filter rules do not apply
If an email attachment
is greater than 50 kb and you are using the Spectorsoft email server to
forward the email, the email attachment will stripped out and NOT
captured by eBlaster nor will the filtering criteria be applied.
To create email filtering rules:
Open the eBlaster
Control Panel.
From the Top Toolbar, click Options and then from the Left Toolbar,
click What to Record. Show Me
The What to Record window is displayed.
To enable email, select the Email
check box.
Click Filter.
The Email Filtering Rules dialog box opens.
In the If
none of the rules apply, then the email should be list, select
either of the following two options.
recorded
- By default, if no rules apply the email gets recorded.
ignored
- If no rules apply, eBlaster will ignore the email.
Note
The Record option tells eBlaster what to do in the event it receives an
email through the recording process that does not have a rule that can
be applied.
From the Email
Filter dialog box, click Add.
The Email Rule dialog box is displayed.
In the RuleName text box, type rule name.
Select Rule
Criteria options.
At Then
the email should be option, select either ignored or recorded.
Click OK.
The Email Rule dialog box closes and, in the Email Filter Rules list,
the new rule is now displayed.
Click OK
to return to the eBlaster Control Panel.
Click Save
to save changes
or
click Cancel if you do not
want to save your changes.
The Control Panel closes.
To Add, delete, edit or change the priority
Click Filter.
The Email Filtering Rules dialog box opens.
Perform one of the following
options:
To add, click Add
and perform Steps 6-10 above.
To delete, select a rule
and click Delete.
To change priority, select
a rule and click Move Up and Move Down to position rule in the list.
Rules are applied in the order they appear in the list.
Click OK
to return to the eBlaster Control Panel.
Click Save
to save changes
or
click Cancel if you do not
want to save your changes.
The Control Panel closes.
