Setup Forward Email

Note When using the SpectorSoft email server to forward email attachments, the maximum file size is 50 kb.  If using an alternate email server, any file size will be accepted.

You may want emailed Activity Reports and Alerts to look like they were sent from a source other than SpectorSoft or send copies to other email addresses. This helps conceals the identity of the actual source of the report improving the "stealth" qualities of eBlaster.

Stealth Use caution when selecting an email address to send the report will to. For example, if you use the same email address as the user being monitored and you set that address in eBlaster, the user will be alerted that eBlaster is installed and monitoring their activity. We strongly suggest the email address you use to receive reports is not one the user has access to.

To configure Forward Email options:

  1. Open the eBlaster Control Panel.

  2. From the Top Toolbar, click Options and then from the Left Toolbar, click Report Delivery. Show Me
    The Report Delivery window is displayed.

  3. In the Send Reports To option, click Options.
    The Delivery Options dialog box is displayed.

  4. In the Send Reports To option, you can setup the following:

Note Ensure you type the entire email address including the @ sign (for example, johndoe@aol.com).

  • CC Send a copy of Activity Report to another email address. Cc is an abbreviation for carbon copy. If you add a recipient's name to this box in a message, a copy of the message is sent to that recipient, and the recipient's name is visible to other recipients of the message.

  • BCC Send a blind copy of Activity Report to another email address. BCC is an abbreviation for blind carbon copy. If you add a recipient's name to this box in a message, a copy of the message is sent to that recipient, and the recipient's name is not visible to other recipients of the message.

  • Friendly From This options allows you to identify the sender with something other than an email address, although anyone using an email reply will be responding to the email address in this box.

  • From The default is noreply@spectorsoft.com if sending email reports though the SpectorSoft server. To change how the reports are sent, go to Delivery Method/Mail Server Settings.

  • Subject  The Subject is what you will see in the Subject header when receiving an email report. If you are configuring eBlaster on multiple computers, you should supply each one with a different Subject so you can immediately tell which report is coming from a specific computer.

  1. Click OK.
    The Delivery Options dialog box closes.

  2. Click Save to save changes
    or
    click Cancel if you do not want to save your changes.
    The Control Panel closes.
