Deployment Utility
The Client installation can be hidden or visible to the user. The option is available when you "build" the Client install file at the end of the Deployment Utility wizard.
Deselect the Quiet Mode
Option for an Interactive Installation

|
|
If you need to install manually at Client computers, you may want to build an Interactive Client Install file with several dialog boxes. The install prompts will help you track the installation progress on these Clients. |
The "quiet" mode of installation removes all indicators that the Client Recorder is being installed. In the Deployment Utility, the option to Install in Quiet or Silent Mode is selected by default. Keep this option checked for a quiet install. If you clear this option the user will be aware of the installation and required to interact with the dialog boxes that you choose.
To deliver a Minimal Interactive Install:
As soon as you clear Install in Quiet or Silent Mode, you will have an interactive Client installation. If you select no other "Show" options on this dialog box, the following prompts will be displayed automatically during Client installation:
Password
prompt - If a password has been configured for Client
Security, the password will be required to begin the interactive installation
of the Client. The password will also be required for an uninstall of
the Client and to open the Viewer (if one is installed with the Client).

Client Installation progress bar - A progress bar will appear showing the progression of the Client installation.
Readme / Installation notes - After all files are installed, a readme file will be displayed. Use the Close window button on this document to proceed with the installation.
Restart prompt - When the readme document is closed, the user will be prompted to restart the computer to complete the installation. The user chooses Yes or No and then Finish.

Remove install file prompt - Finally, a prompt asks the user if he/she would like to remove the Spector installation file (to maintain stealth). Click Yes to close the box and delete the setup file or No to close the box without deleting anything.
The Client is fully installed after the computer restarts.
To deliver a fully Interactive Install:
The Build Installation File panel of the Deployment Utility allows you to select additional dialog boxes for the install sequence by responding to these questions. For each option you check, a dialog box will be displayed.
Reboot
Client Computer After Installation?
The Client is not fully installed until the Client computer restarts.
Check this option to override the prompt shown in step 4 above and have
the Client restart immediately and automatically. Clear this option to
allow the user to turn off and restart in normal operation. The Client
will not begin recording until the computer restarts.
Show
Agreement Dialog?
Available when "Install in Quiet or Silent Mode" is cleared.
The Installation will require the user to respond to an Agreement dialog
box. Click the View button to
see what this dialog box looks like.
Show
License Dialog?
Available when "Install in Quiet or Silent Mode" is cleared.
The Installation will require the user to respond to a License dialog
box. Click the View button to
see what this dialog box looks like.
Show
Setup Start and Advanced Dialogs?
Available when "Install in Quiet or Silent Mode" is cleared.
The user can choose Standard
or Advanced settings. Advanced
settings allow the user to select a Complete
Client Recorder or Viewer Only installation.
"Viewer Only" installs just the Client Viewer (not the Recorder),
which may be useful if there is already a Client Recorder and a Viewer
is needed.
Show
Options Dialog?
Shows the dialog that allows you to set a Password and Hotkey sequence
to open the Viewer, if the Viewer is configured to install. The user can
change the password during the installation, but not the Hotkey sequence.
The user can also set the Client to operate in Visible or Stealth mode.

Show
Installation Warning Dialog?
You can begin the Client installation with a message that you create.
The user must respond to the message before the installation continues.
Click Edit next to this option
and enter your message in the text box.
