Changing Client Settings

Configure Computers

Client Settings specify exactly who, what, when and how recording should take place. There are two ways to configure how the Client records network computers:

To modify Client Settings:

  1. Select Configure Computers in the left navigation pane of the Control Center.

  2. Make sure the Client you wish to modify is installed on the computer and reporting a "Recording" state in the Configure Computers view

  3. In the right pane, right-click on the computer you wish to modify and select Client Settings.

The Client Settings box appears. The settings in this window apply only to the selected Client computer (or group). The following panels are available for selection (click the links for help on each):

Note that Online Searches (as permitted by Internet Blocking) and User Activity are recorded automatically as long as Client recording is ON.

  1. Change the settings for different types of recording.

  2. When you are finished making changes, click OK on the Settings box to apply the configuration and close the box.

  3. If you have changed the configuration, a message appears asking if you wish to re-initialize the Spector Client Recorder now. Click Yes to apply the changes now. Click No to apply the changes the next time the Client computer is started.
