Master Dashboard Login, Allow Database Maintenance
The Databases folder in Management allows you to view statistics, archive STORAGE data, and restore archived STORAGE data. You can use this folder to check on the size of the data and number of new STORAGE databases automatically created to contain your recorded data.
To view the Spector 360 Databases:
Open the Management tool and select the Databases folder. The Spector 360 databases listed are:
ADMIN DB: Contains the SQL Server instance scripts that are not customer specific. There are no tasks to perform for this database, and it is not included in a Full Backup.
CUSTOMER DB: Contains customer-specific data common to all data, such as login profiles. This database is included in a Full Backup. There are no tasks to perform for this database.
DATA VAULT DB: The Data Vault service stores raw data in this database as it is received from Clients. The data is held here until the Process Data Vault job runs and inserts the data in the STORAGE database(s) in a format the Dashboard can query and retrieve.
LOOKUP DB - 001: The lookup database is related to the Customer database and contains the program names, the domain names and so on that appear in lists in the Dashboard. This information grows as data accumulates, and Spector 360 will automatically create a new LOOKUP DB incrementing the number to 002 (then 003, 004 and so on) when the database reaches a size of 2 GB.
SEARCH DB: Appears when you have performed searches using the Search tool. This database stores the search results in a "cache" area that will not be retained beyond certain limits.
SPCTR_WEBFILTER: Where Website Filtering custom categories, category groups, time profiles, and rules are stored.
SPCTR_WEBSYSTEM: Where SpectorSoft-supplied data (system categories) for Website filtering is stored. New data is added to this database only when an update with new URLs for filtering is supplied from SpectorSoft. Initially this database is empty.
STORAGE DB - 001: Where the recorded data resides. Spector 360 automatically creates a new STORAGE DB incrementing the number to 002 (then 003, 004 and so on) when the database reaches a size of 2 GB. You can view statistics on this database, and when a new STORAGE database is created, the old one can be archived. See Archiving the Database.

The Dashboard view of Databases provides the following information:
Database Name: Identifies the database. See above. You can have multiple STORAGE and LOOKUP DBs, but only one ADMIN, CUSTOMER, and DATA VAULT DB.
Version: The Spector 360 database version. When you update the Spector 360 databases, the version number will change.
Archived: Whether or not the database has been archived (archives apply only to STORAGE DBs).
Maximum Size: Maximum size the database can be before a new one is automatically created. The max for all databases is 2 GB (2,048 MB).
Current Size: The size of the database. The ADMIN and CUSTOMER DB sizes will not change until you upgrade Spector 360. The DATA VAULT DB size increases as recordings are received from the Clients and decreases as recordings are processed and inserted in the STORAGE database. The STORAGE DB continues to increase in size until it reaches the maximum size and a new STORAGE DB is created.
Space Used: How much disk space the database is using.
Date Created: The date and time the database was created (initially the installation date).
