Use Event Criteria to search
for matches
Use the Search tool to find matches in the selected activity fields. See Using Search.
|
The Dashboard lets you use any number of search keywords, up to 99 characters, for Event Criteria or a Search tool search. Keywords are matched against selected fields for the activity type. The Dashboard conducts searches following these rules:
One
match is required
At least one selected
field in a recording must match the search word(s) before the record is
returned as a match. Otherwise, no records are returned.
Case
is ignored
Capitalization has no effect on search words. For example, if you are
searching for "sky," the title "Big Sky" in a selected
field results in a match. The search term "AIDS" matches a field
containing "boy aids lost dog."
blue
sky
For this search query, both words,
"blue" AND "sky," must be found in one of the selected
fields, in any arrangement ("blue sky" or "blue water and
dark sky"). If the words are found in separate fields ("blue"
in the URL and "sky" in the Window Caption) it is not a match.
"blue
sky"
Quotation marks around a word or multiple words specify an exact match.
The phrase "blue sky" must have an identical match ("blue
sky") in any selected field.
blue
OR sky
Using the OR operator (must be uppercase), either
word can be matched ("blue" or "sky," "blue water,"
or "sky above me") in one of the selected search fields to return
a record.
"blue
sky" OR "dark sky"
This combination of the OR operator and quotations requires a match
of either the exact phrase "blue sky" or the exact phrase "dark
sky" in any selected field.
The Dashboard searches only in the selected event fields (such as "Sender," "Recipient," or "CC/BCC") for matches to the search term(s). Look under Viewing Recorded Events for an activity type to see which fields are available to be searched.
