A Master Login can use Jobs Management to back up the Spector 360 Database. Backups allow you to recover all Spector 360 Databases if something goes wrong or if you move the installation to a new computer. Two backup jobs are provided: Full and Differential Backup.
Jobs Management allows you to schedule backups, view backup job history, or perform a backup now. To restore a backup, see Backup and Restore Management.

The Full Backup job makes a baseline copy of all databases (STORAGE, ADMIN, CUSTOMER, and DATA VAULT) currently in use. Your first backup should be a Full Backup.
Spector 360 is initially set to perform a Full Backup one night every week.
To change the Full Backup schedule, select the job, right-click and select Edit Schedule. See Scheduling Jobs.
To perform an immediate backup, select the job and click Backup Now. See below.
The
default location for Full and Differential Backups is on the Spector 360
Database computer at
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$SPECTOR360\Backup. Change
the Backup Location using Database
Configuration.
A Differential Backup job makes a copy of all changes to the databases since the last Full Backup.
Spector 360 is initially set to perform a Differential Backup every night.
To change the Differential Backup schedule, select the job, right-click and select Edit Schedule. See Scheduling Jobs.
To perform an immediate backup, select the job and click Backup Now. See below.
Differential Backups are stored with their associated Full Backup at the Backup Location.
You can start a Full or Differential Backup immediately without changing the backup schedule.
To back up the database now:
Select the Management tool and Jobs.
To see the job in action, before you start it right-click and select Monitor Job Status.
Select Backup - Full or Backup - Differential.
Click the Backup
Now button or right-click
and select Backup
Now.
A Full or Differential Backup begins immediately to the default backup
location. Remember to perform a Full Backup before the first Differential
Backup.

Wait until the Jobs Management status changes from "The job is executing" to "The job is currently idle" and the Last Run Time is updated. You can also right-click and select Monitor Job Status to watch the progress of the job. Do not attempt to use the Dashboard while the Backup is taking place.
Right-click and select Refresh Status to be sure the job has finished. The backup takes anywhere from several minutes to an hour depending on the amount of data and your system's performance.
To view backup history
Select Backup - Full or Backup - Differential in the Jobs Management right pane.
Click View
Job History on the toolbar or
Right-click on the Backup job and select View
Job History.
The Database Job History window
appears. Click Close to close the window.
