The Chart Settings dialog box allows you to completely adjust the content of a chart: the type of activity shown, the title, the data each chart element represents, how many chart elements are shown, the chart type (Vertical Bar, Horizontal Bar, Pie chart, Spline Chart, 3D effect), and the display size of the chart.

To open the Chart Settings dialog box:
Click Settings below the chart you want to change, or start the New Chart wizard, select Advanced Setup, and click Next.

The Chart Settings dialog box appears. Click to enlarge
To change the Chart Settings:
Make changes to the fields in the Chart Settings box. Click OK when all settings are ready. The Chart Settings box closes and the changes are reflected in the chart on the panel.
Chart Title: Type a new name in the Chart Title text box to match your adjustments to the chart settings. If you change the chart data and do NOT change the title, the title turns red and a message appears when you click OK.

Event Activity: Select an Event Activity type from the drop-down list. This selection affects the following fields.

Chart
Contents: From the drop-down list, choose a focus for the chart
Based on: Determines which data field is used as criteria for the chart. Options depend on the Event Activity type. For example, a Web events chart can show the "Top Users" based on Active Time, Focus Time, Request Count, or Total Time. The Based on setting provides the data value for the bar, pie slice or data point. See Setting Chart Content to see options for each activity type.
Top 'n': Appears for a "Top" Chart Contents selection. Enter the number of data elements (bars, pie slices, points, grid rows) to display on the chart. The chart will show only event records with the top (or MOST) data values. The default is 10; use any value from 1-100 (1-10 for a 3-D chart). For example, selections in the illustration above will show the Top 10 Email Users.
Bottom 'n': Appears for a "Bottom" Chart Contents selection. Enter the number of data elements (bars, pie slices, points, grid rows) to display on the chart, taken from the bottom (or LEAST) data values. The default is 10; use any value from 1-100 (1-10 for a 3-D chart). For example, selecting the Bottom 10 Users would show the 10 users sending and receiving the least amount of email.
Trend - Appears for a "Trend" Chart Contents selection. Select Hour, Day, Week, or Month from the drop-down list to set the X-axis values where data TOTALS are plotted on a Trend chart. You can select Hour only if the Based on selection is a "count" value. For example, a Web Trend chart can be hourly when it is "based on" Request Count, but not when it is "based on" Active Time. Show me.

Chart
Type: Select Horizontal Bars,
Vertical Bars, Pie
Chart, or Spline Chart.
Check 3-Dimensional to give any
chart type a 3-D effect. See Chart Types
for illustrations of each.

Chart
Size: Select 1/4 Page,
1/2 Page Horizontal, 1/2
Page Vertical or Full Page.
Charts normally take 1/4 viewing page on the Quick
View panel. Expanding the chart size to fill 1/2
page, vertically or horizontally, or to a full page is desirable when
the chart contains many data elements, such as the Top 25 Web sites visited.
A User Activity/Inactivity chart
can only be set to 1/2 Page Horizontal or Full Page.

Charts take the Top / Bottom / Trend data from within the current criteria settings (Date, Users, Computers, and Event Criteria).
If you choose a larger chart
Depending on the resolution of your monitor and the number of activities logged, the chart may scroll to allow you to see all elements. Use the Reports button below the resulting Quick View chart to view a multi-page Report.
