General Criteria allows you to limit the data retrieved by date/time period, users, and/or computers. Initially, the General Criteria is set to <Use Global Criteria Setting>. You can use General Criteria to override Global Criteria for a specific chart, report, or data form. For example, generate a report for This Week only (instead of the Last 90 Days), and display data for two individual users from the Sales Department (instead of <All Users>).
To open the General Criteria panel:
Double-click a form or report (if "Bypass Criteria" has not been set) in Data Explorer, User Explorer, or Reports.
In Quick View, click the Criteria button below a chart or data grid.
In an Events Window, click the Criteria button at the top of the Navigate pane.
To change the General Criteria :
Select the General Criteria tab and set boundaries for the Date, Computer(s) and User(s). Only the recordings that meet your selected criteria will be retrieved for display.

Date: Select a date and time period from the drop-down list. Fill in the date and time information as requested.
Computer(s): Select one or more computers to include or exclude. The default setting is <All>.
Users: Select one or more users to include or exclude. The default setting is <All>. Note that this field does NOT apply to User Explorer, where you are already viewing data by user.
Bypass Criteria Dialog: Check this option if you are satisfied with the criteria and do not want the Criteria dialog box to appear the next time you open this chart, report, or data form. Leave this option cleared if you would like to be prompted for criteria each time you open this chart, report, or data form.
Note: The Master Login can set a global parameter so that the Dashboard always bypasses the criteria, in which case the Bypass Criteria Dialog setting has no effect. However, you can always open the Criteria box from a right-click menu or from a Criteria button and make changes.

Criteria Settings: This informational field summarizes ALL criteria selections, revealing the values for any <Use Global Criteria Setting> as well as any special Event Criteria settings.
Save Criteria: Check this option to make these criteria settings "stick" as you refresh with new data from the database. If you do not check this option, the criteria settings return to the defaults when you use Refresh.
Click OK to apply the selections and generate the chart, form or report. Click Cancel to return to the previous selections and cancel the chart, form or report.

When you change the General Criteria for one chart, report, or form, it does NOT affect the criteria for other items in the folder. The criteria will eventually revert to the default setting if you do not select Save Criteria. |
