Spector 360 records every program opened and the time spent in program activity or inactivity. If an employee opens a program and leaves it open all day, but doesn't spend more than three minutes working in the program, you will know. By tracking how much activity takes place when a program is open, you'll be able to see who is working hard at productivity programs and who is goofing off web-surfing, playing games, or engaged in chat.
See Understanding Recorded Events: Program Events to learn exactly what Spector 360 records.
Narrow the program events that the Dashboard retrieves by searching for specific words.
To search for keywords:
Type the keywords you want to match (for example, "budget") in the Search for box, and then check Window Caption. The Window Caption usually includes the program name and the document name (or subject line or chat user). This would allow you to pull up all program events where a "budget" document was being worked on or perhaps the subject of an email. For more about keyword matching, click here.
Include partial matches:
Check to look for a partial match; for example, the search word "man"
would match "mankind" or "manage" in the window caption.

Retrieve all program events or focus on specific programs.
To view activity from specific programs:
Specify individual programs or groups of programs you wish to include or exclude. For example, you might EXCLUDE standard productivity programs to focus on all other applications being used. See Viewing by Program.
Filter program event data by the amount of time the user was focusing on, active in, or simply running a program. For example, set your cross hairs on programs that are in focus (at the front of Windows) more than 5 hours to see which programs are getting heavy usage.
To set a focus / active time filter:
Select one of the following from the drop-down list:
Active Time: Time where users are actively typing, dragging, scrolling, etc., in the program.
Focus Time: Time the program window had front focus on the user's computer.
Total Time: Total time the program was up and running.
Select an operator, enter a number, then select Hrs, Mins, or Secs to set the time period.
