The Windows Schedule dialog box appears when you click Schedule on the Edit Task window, and when you click Save but have not yet set the schedule. It allows you to specify the time period, frequency, and a number of other settings that determine when the task runs (or stops running).
The name at the top of the dialog box is the task name. The default schedule—the current time, daily, starting today—appears first. You will change the schedule to meet your needs.

To set the schedule:
Under the Schedule
tab of the Task window, select a time period from the Schedule
Task drop-down and set additional options.
In the Start time box, select or type a time for the report(s) to run.
Click Advanced if you want to set an end date, repeat the task more frequently than daily, or set a limited duration for the task. Windows Task Manager Help provides more information.
Specify more about how often to run the task in the remaining field or fields, depending on the schedule period you chose.
Daily: Run the task once a day. If you wish, run the task Every n day(s). Enter the number of days to wait before running; "1" is every day.
Weekly: Run the task once a week. If you wish, run the task Every n week(s). "1" is once a week. Choose days on which to run the task every week.
Monthly: Run the task one a month. Use the options to schedule the task for a day of the month, either by day number or by a weekday sequence. Use Select Months if you want to specify months you would like the task to run on.
Once: Run the task, at the specified time, once.
At System Startup: Run the task once when the computer starts.
At Logon: Run the task once when you log on to Windows.
When idle: Runs the task once, as soon as the computer is idle. Define how long in minutes the computer should be idle before running the task.
Click OK.
To fine tune the task settings:
Click the Settings
tab on the Task Schedule box.

Schedule what happens when the task is completed. Check "Delete the task if it is not scheduled to run again" to delete the task from the hard drive when it is done (useful for tasks being run once only).
Check "Stop the task if it runs for [n] hour(s) [n] minute(s)" and fill in the time period if you want to stop the task after a given time; for example, prevent the task from running incessantly if something goes wrong.
Set the Idle Time.
Determine what constitutes the computer's "Idle Time" and
when to check again to see if the computer is idle. Check "Only start
the task if the computer has been idle for at least [n] minutes"
to specify the number of minutes the computer should be idle before the
task starts. "If the computer has not been idle that long, retry
for up to: [n] minutes.": Enter the length of time in minutes the
computer should keep checking to see if the computer is idle.
Power Management.
Check "Don't start the task if the computer is running on batteries"
to prevent the task from running when AC power is not available.
Check "Stop the task if battery mode begins" to end the task
at loss of AC power.
Check "Wake the computer to run this task" if the computer
might be in Sleep mode and uses OnNow power management.
Click OK.
