When you use the New Chart wizard or Chart Settings box to create a chart, you need to select Chart Contents and Based on values to set a focus for the chart. Most activities allow a variety of parameters for focusing the chart. The Chart Contents determine what data will be retrieved (Top, Bottom, or Trend) and what labels will be used (User Names, Device Types, etc.). The Based on value determines from which field to retrieve data, and the value given to each bar, pie slice, or data point.  

NOTE: Chart data shown is always limited to the criteria selected.

Chat/IM Chart Contents

To set the contents for a Chat/IM chart:

Chat/IM charts are always based on the number of Chat Conversations that took place. Select one of the following for bar labels from the Chart Contents selection list:

 Document Tracking Activity

To set Document Tracking Chart Contents:

Document Tracking charts are always based on the number of Document Actions (CREATE, DELETE, EDIT, PRINT, RENAME). The "Document Action Count" sets the size of the bar or pie slice or position of the data point. Select from the following Chart Contents options:

Email Activity

To set contents for an Email Activity chart:

Email Activity charts are always based on the total Email Count. The number of email messages sent and received sets the size of the bar or pie slice or position of the data point. Select from the following Chart Contents options:

File Transfer

To set contents for a File Transfer chart:

File Transfer charts are always based on the number of files uploaded and downloaded. The File Count sets the size of the bar or pie slice or position of the data point. Select from the following Chart Contents options:

Keystroke

To set contents for a Keystroke chart:

Keystroke charts are always based on a Formatted Keystroke Count. The number of "formatted keystrokes" (as opposed to "actual keystrokes") typed sets the size of the bar or pie slice or position of the data point. Select from the following Chart Contents options:

Keyword Alert

To set contents for a Keyword Alert chart:

Keyword Alert charts are always based on the number of keywords detected. The Keyword Count sets the size of the bar or pie slice or position of the data point.. Select from the following Chart Contents options:

Network

To set contents for a Network chart:

Network Activity charts are always based on the number of bytes used. The Total Bytes sets the size of the bar or pie slice or position of the data point. Select from the following Chart Contents options:

Online Searches

To set contents for an Online Search chart:

Online Searches charts are always based on the number of searches conducted. The Search Count sets the size of the bar or pie slice or position of the data point. Select from the following Chart Contents options:

Program

To set the contents for a Program chart:

Program Activity charts can be based on the time or count of instances. Select from the following Chart Contents options:

A Program Activity chart can be based on any of the following, which sets the size of the bar or pie slice or position of the data point:

Tip: Choose a larger page size (1/2 Page or Full Page) to display more data points.

User Activity

To set the contents of a User Activity chart:

A User Activity chart is always a Time Chart, but allows other display settings. After selecting User Activity as the Event Activity, select the Chart Contents. The Chart Contents in this case determine what is shown on each chart page and in the paging control at the top of the chart.

Activity by Computer is Selected

The User Field Format determines how activity information is ordered on the chart.
