Master Login
Spector 360 provides centralized, user-based web filtering. All Dashboard logins can VIEW Website Filtering Status, but only the Master Login can define the Website Filtering policy. See Getting Started with Website Filtering for a complete explanation.
Each Filtering Rule uses a Time Profile, Categories/Category Groups, and applies to some or all users.
The Web Filter Server intercepts Client web requests.
If the requested domain is blocked, the Client user sees a "Blocked Web Site" page. The message may include links to request access permission.
You can update or expand your Website Filtering policy at any time without changing Client settings, and view blocked web site charts from the Web Sites panel in Quick View.
To access Website Filtering:
Open the Management tool and select the Website Filtering folder.
At first, the Website Filtering Status in the right pane shows 0 (zero) in all fields. After you have defined Categories, Groups, Time Profiles, and Rules, this pane gives you at-a-glance information about the filtering enabled right now.

Filtering Rules: Filtering Rules are complete definitions of who, what, and when to allow or block. The status box tells you how many rules are currently enabled (are in effect right now) or disabled, and how many rules have been defined total. Click View List to view or set up Filtering Rules.
Time
Profiles: You must define a Time
Profile
Category Groups: A Category Group allows you to combine Categories for a rule. You need to set up your groups before using them in a rule. The status box tells you how many groups exist. Click View List to view or set up Category Groups.
Categories: A Category is a list of domains of a certain type, such as Sports, Adult Sites, or Gambling domains. Spector 360 provides a complete set of ready-made Web System Categories, available for use in Filtering Rules and in Category Groups. See System Categories. You can augment the provided categories with your own Custom Categories. For example, you might set up a "More Gambling" category that contains gaming sites detected by the Spector Client, but not included in the provided system categories. Select Categories under Management Folders to view the provided System Categories and to define your own Categories.
To access the new rule wizard from here:
Under Filtering Rules, click View List. This takes you to the Filtering Rules sub-folder.
Right-click and select New in the right pane of Filtering Rules Management. The Website Filtering New Rule wizard opens. Follow the steps in the wizard.
The bottom portion of the Website Filtering Status pane shows the message displayed when a web site is not accessible. You can change this message by clicking the Edit button. See Editing the Blocked Message.
