The Dashboard lets you save Screen Snapshots for evidence of activity or for future use. You can save individual or series of snapshots in two formats:
Image - Save the snapshots as either .bmp or .jpg graphics files.
Video - Save a series of snapshots in .avi video format. Play back your "video" in any program that supports .avi format.
You can save one snapshot, all tagged (non-consecutive) snapshots, all snapshots, or a range of consecutive snapshots in image files. In each case, a single snapshot is saved in a single image file.

To save one snapshot as an image:
Select the Screen Snapshot view and display the snapshot you want to save.
Open the Dashboard's File menu and select Save As or click Save on the toolbar. The Save Snapshots box opens.
Leave the default settings when you
are saving an individual snapshot:
Save as - Image(s)
Snapshots to Save - Current

Filename - By default, the Viewer saves each snapshot in your
My Documents folder with a filename that includes today's month and day
and the snapshot frame number (Snapshotmmdd-n.jpg).
For example:
Click the ... button to change the file name and navigate to a different
location.
File Format - Select the file format for your image:
JPG File: The default format is the compressed JPEG format.
BMP File: A Bitmap image has no "loss" and creates
a larger file.
Click Save create and same the image.
To save a series of snapshots as images:
Select the Screen Snapshot View.
Determine which series you want to save.
All - You can save ALL snapshots as images. Remember, you can adjust the date criteria before opening the Snapshot view and THEN save all snapshots as image files.
Selected
Range - If the snapshots are in order, note the frame numbers in
the bottom status bar as you display them. You can select a range of snapshot
numbers to save as image files.

Open the Viewer's File
menu, select Save As.
Make the appropriate selections in the Save Snapshots box. The example
below will save the selected range: Snapshot 25 (of 454) to Snapshot 50
(of 454).

Choose a location and naming scheme
for the files.
All snapshots in the series retain the base filename and add the snapshot
frame number. For example, if you name the base file "Joe_Thursday":

All
snapshots would be:
Joe_Thursday1.jpg
Joe_Thursday2.jpg, and so on, to the last snapshot loaded.
Selected
Range snapshots would be:
Joe_Thursday25.jpg
Joe-Thursday26.jpg, and so on, to the end of the range.
Choose a File Format, JPG or BMP.
Click Save. Each snapshot in the series is saved as a separate image file.
You can save multiple snapshots in a single video file to play back, much as you use "Play" to view snapshots non-stop in the Viewer. You can select non-consecutive, tagged snapshots, a range of snapshots, or ALL snapshots currently loaded for your video.
To save snapshots as a video:
Select the Screen Snapshot view.
Select Save as Video.

Choose the snapshots for your video. Use one of these methods:
All - You can include ALL snapshots in the video. Remember, before opening the Snapshot view, you can adjust the date criteria setting.
Selected Range - Look for snapshot frame numbers in the bottom status bar of the Snapshot view. Enter the frame of the first Snapshot and the last Snapshot in the two fields provided. Your video will start and end with these consecutive snapshots.
Change the video file name and destination as you wish. The default file name is videommdd.avi, including today's month and date.
Click Save.
The Video Compression box opens.

Compressor - By default, the Viewer saves the .avi file as full frame, uncompressed. Use the dropdown list to select a type of compressor (codec) installed on your PC. Your selection determines the file type and whether the following settings are available.
Compression Quality - Available for some types of compressors, increases or decreases compression by quality from 0 - 100. An uncompressed .avi file has the highest Compression Quality of 100.
Configure - Available for MPEG-4 and other types of video compressors, allows you to set codec options, such as frame frequency, data rate, smoothness, and so on.
About - Provides information about currently selected codec.
Click OK to accept the Video Compression. The snapshots are compiled into a single .avi file. You can play back the file using Windows Media Player or any other program that accepts .avi files.
