Spector CNE automates the process of archiving and protecting your recordings by including a tool called the Data Vault that will securely store and organize all of your PC recordings on a network server.

If you don't have the ability to centralize the recordings on a server, then they can remain on the local computer where they were recorded and viewed remotely across your network.

Your recordings can be archived using one of the following methods:

Centralized
Recordings are stored on a single network server or on multiple network servers.

Localized
Recordings are stored locally at each individual PC.

Centralized Archiving

Single Network Server
(recommended for Small/Medium Businesses)

The Data Vault provides superior security and data management over the traditional method of storing your recordings on each local PC.

The Data Vault handles the function of data storage and security. It is installed in a secure location on your network (computer or server). Individual client computers will automatically upload their recordings to the Data Vault where the data is organized for effortless retrieval and review all while protecting the recordings from tampering and unauthorized access.

All recordings contained in the Data Vault can be automatically retrieved and reviewed across the network – eliminating the need to physically visit each PC.

Multiple Network Servers
(recommended for Medium/Large Businesses or Corporations)

Using Multiple Servers allows you to organize your recordings by department, office floor, location or any other category you choose.

This provides you with control over where the data is stored on your network and offers a method for compartmentalizing Spector CNE data storage. Each server runs an independant copy of the Data Vault. Groups of PCs are then assigned to this server group and will automatically upload their recordings to the Data Vault.

The recordings in each server group can be automatically retrieved and reviewed across the network – eliminating the need to physically visit each PC.

Every PC running Spector CNE will automatically store the recordings on the local hard drive. Spector CNE will save these recordings for a time period of your choice. All recordings can be automatically retrieved and reviewed across the network – eliminating the need to physically visit each PC.

Data Backup

Regular backup of your Spector CNE recordings will ensure you have a complete historical record of everything that is occurring on your company PCs.

The Data Vault makes backup simple and uncomplicated by compiling all of your Spector CNE recordings in one place. Recordings are all archived into a single folder that is organized into subfolders for each computer that is being recorded. Any backup made to Tape, CD, DVD or other storage media can be easily opened and viewed with any Spector CNE viewer.

Data Security

Spector CNE implements two primary security standards to prevent unauthorized access to recordings: encryption and password protection.

All recordings are encrypted the moment they are captured. No matter where your recordings are archived (locally on each individual PC or in a Data Vault) they are always protected. Only Spector CNE can decrypt and open the data for viewing.

Additionally, IT administrators can assign a protection password to all recordings. Users are required to enter this password prior to viewing the data files.
