Control Center
The tree list in the Scope window displays an item called the Control Center. This item can be expanded and contracted as with any tree list item and provides access to all Control Center views. Selecting the Control Center in the Scope window and then clicking on the right mouse button, displays a pop-up menu.
All items in this list are standard Microsoft Management Console functions except for the menu item: All Tasks. Selecting All Tasks displays a menu, which provides access to the following functionalities:
Load Computer List Used to load a predefined computer list. The computer list will be loaded into the Manage Computers view and will replace any current computer list that is loaded
Edit Computer List Used to edit computer list files. See Network properties tab
Quick Create Computer List Allows a computer list file to be created if the Control Center is configured for a Startup Method of Discover All Network Computers. The computer list will be created from those computers displayed in the Manage Computers view.
Note:
This function is useful if you would like to have the computers on your
network automatically discovered and then wish to save off that list of
computers in order to work with a fixed computer list for future Control
Center operation
Auto Background Update Enables/disables background network activity and is another way to toggle the Auto Update Console Computers In Background property. See Background Updating
Log Level Used to set the detail level of log file activity. See General properties tab
Access the global Control Center properties by right clicking your mouse on the Control Center item and select Properties. The properties dialog box will display. There are six tabs within the Properties list:
Note:
The Control Center topic sections of this Help review the contents of
each of these property tabs. If you are looking for information about
a specific tab, click on the tab’s link above.
