Email Not Supported
Several different types of email are not currently recorded by the Spector Client (Client). While SpectorSoft has attempted to specifically record the most popular types of email accessible on a Windows computer, there are ultimately some email interfaces not supported by the Client that are considered very important to customers.
If your email interface is NOT supported by the Client, the only alternative for recording the information for that unsupported interface is to retrieve information about emails being sent by reviewing the keystrokes recorded in the email interface program. In addition, the Snapshot function can also be used to review pictures of the emails being composed or read by the user on the computer.
The following are known email interfaces NOT supported by the Client:
IMAP A server based email interface similar to an internet newsgroup
Lotus Notes Lotus is a division of IBM and Notes is their Windows enterprise messaging system. This is analogous to the Microsoft Exchange product
Novell Groupwise Novell's enterprise messaging system. This is analogous to the Microsoft Exchange product
Yahoo "Personals" messaging is not captured, though all other email sent or received from within the Yahoo Web site interface is recorded
AOL Communicator A standalone communication program introduced by AOL in 2003. The Client does not currently record email sent/received within AOL Communicator unless it is from an SMTP/POP account that has been configured within Communicator
Web Email Attachments The Client does not capture email file attachments sent or received using Web email accounts.
