Introduction to Client

The Spector Client (Client) is a network computer that has Spector CNE recording and monitoring software installed. The software consists of two modules, the Client Recorder and the Client Service, which work in conjunction with each other, but provide separate functionalities. Each network computer that is to be monitored must have the Client software installed.

The Client is installed on a computer by running an installation executable built and pre-configured using the Spector CNE Deployment Utility.

Once a pre-configured installation file has been built using the Deployment Utility, the Control Center is used to select the computer or group of computers/computers on the network to receive the installation file. The Control Center can push the installation file onto the computers remotely, and the install will complete silently and invisibly in the background without requiring physical access to the computers. A restart of each computer is required to complete the Client install, but the Control Center can schedule these installations to the computers for any time of the day to minimize interaction with computer users.

Note: Each computer on which the Client is installed will require one Spector CNE Client license. See License Explanation for more information.
