Keystrokes Recording
Spector Client (Client) provides the ability to record all keystrokes typed on a computer. This includes non-displayable or hidden keystrokes such as the Shift, Alt, or Ctrl keys. The Client will record all keystrokes together, for each separate window in which they are typed. For each program window, the Client will record:
All keystrokes typed in that window
When keystrokes were first typed in the window (start time)
When keystrokes were last typed in the window (end time)
Keystroke typing delays of more than five minutes within a window
The title of the program window
The name of the Windows program
The Windows user that was logged in when the keystrokes were typed
To configure Keystrokes to be recorded on the monitored computer, configure the Keystrokes settings when building the Client installation file with the Spector CNE Deployment Utility.
In addition, Keystrokes settings can be changed on the Client after installation by selecting the computer within the Configure Computers View of the Control Center or by selecting the Settings tab from within the Spector Viewer when reviewing recordings for the Client.
To review Keystrokes recorded on the Client, use the Monitor Computers View of the Control Center to select the computer to review. See Viewing Keystrokes for details on reviewing the recorded Keystrokes.
Note: The
Client does NOT record mouse activity. The Client does not record keystrokes
for non-Western character sets (i.e. Chinese, Japanese, and Russian),
though the Snapshot capture would
properly record the computer activity in a non-Western version of Windows.
