Licensing Explanation
The Spector CNE software is licensed for each individual Spector Corporate Network Edition computer on which the Client will be installed. Once the Client is installed on a computer, a license is reserved specifically for that computer. It cannot be moved to another computer. If the Client is uninstalled from the computer, the license remains reserved for that computer and can be used for future installations to the same computer.
Note:
Spector CNE uniquely identifies a Client computer on the network by using
its Windows computer name. If the computer name of the computer is changed,
another license for that computer will be used in order for the Client
to continue to record the computer.
If Spector CNE is used to record and monitor a Windows multi-user server, then a license is required for each unique user connecting to the multi-user server. Multi-user Windows server products include Citrix, MetaFrame, and Windows Terminal Services.
Example:
The purchase of a ten-computer license would allow for the installation of the Client on ten unique computers running on a network. All ten licenses could be immediately installed on ten different computers or a license could be used for the installation to a single computer, leaving nine licenses to be installed on other computers at a later time.
Example:
The purchase of a twenty-computer license would allow for the installation of the Client onto a Citrix server configured for twenty unique users.
