Novell Networks

Spector CNE can support the recording of Windows computers on a Novell network provided certain considerations be made for how the computers are networked by Windows.

If the computers are networked in a Windows Workgroup then all Spector CNE Windows Workgroup Installation Considerations must be made. Most installation issues involve Windows 98/ME computers that are being remotely managed by the Control Center. Most Novell Network problems are avoided if the Spector Client (Client) is manually installed.

If the computers are networked in a Windows Domain, Spector CNE will function as expected—provided the Client Installation Requirements are met and considerations are made for Window 98/ME remote installations. Ensure that the Windows user account used to install the Server components is an account that either is in the domain admin group or is an account that is in the local admin group of each computer on the network to receive the remote installation. The Windows user account is different from the Novell Network login account but is managed by the Novell login procedure.

Refer to the Spector CNE Knowledge Base for further information on installing to a Novell Network.
