Peer to Peer Recording

Spector Client (Client) provides the ability to record the exchange of information between one computer and another, i.e. the download of music or transfer of files. For each transfer or download, the following information is recorded:

To configure Peer to Peer recording on a monitored computer, configure the Peer to Peer Settings when building the Client installation file with the Spector CNE Deployment Utility.

In addition, the Peer to Peer settings can be changed on the Client after installation by selecting the computer within the Configure Computers View of the Control Center. Peer to Peer settings can also be changed by selecting the Settings tab from within the Spector Viewer when reviewing recorded events.

To review Peer to Peer data recorded on a monitored computer, use the Monitor Computers View of the Control Center to select the computer to review. See Viewing Peer to Peer for details on reviewing the recorded Peer to Peer data.

By default, the Client is configured to record all Peer to Peer activity at all times. If you want to change this setting:

  1. Click on the Settings button

  2. Click on the Peer to Peer tab

  3. Remove the checkmark from the box labeled Capture Peer to Peer
