Remove References from Internet Explorer
This option, set by default, is found by clicking the Settings tab, the Security tab, and then the Advanced button. It will remove the following information from your Internet Explorer Web Browser:
SpectorSoft Web Cache
SpectorSoft Cookies
SpectorSoft Addresses in the Address Bar
SpectorSoft History
The removal happens both upon the installation of Spector and any time you close the program by clicking the Save or Cancel buttons.
The purpose of this feature is to eliminate any evidence of having visited any of SpectorSoft's Web sites. This becomes an extra "stealth" measure to avoid detection of Spector on the computer where it is installed.
The Web sites deleted will be:
www.spectorsoft.com
www.spectorpro.com
This option is selected by default and will:
Clear the entire Internet Explorer (IE) history of all Web sites that have been visited.
|
|
Clear all Web site references to www.spectorsoft.com and www.spectorpro.com that are stored in the IE Temporary Internet Files folder (the browser's cache). All other files in the cache will not be affected and will remain
Remove any "typed URLs" that reference www.spectorsoft.com and www.spectorpro.com <http://www.spectorpro.com>. These are the URLs listed when you select the pull-down box at the IE address input box as seen in the example below
If Internet Explorer is open when the Spector interface is closed, you will get a dialog message asking you if you want to close IE. This is because IE needs to be closed to insure the successful clearing of the history cache. Choose Yes or No depending upon what you want to do.
