Spector CNE
Administrator's Guide
A Data Viewer installed on its own allows you to view the same Client recordings that you can view from the Control Center. All you need is a network connection and permission to access the Data Vault directory. You can install as many Viewers as you like.
There are two ways to get a Viewer on a computer:
Use the CNE Setup program
Use the Client installation (configured by the Deployment Utility)
|
|
We recommend installing the Viewer with the Client only for troubleshooting, to verify the Client is recording data as you wish. See Configuring Client Security. |
Use these instructions to provide a Viewer to managers who needs to view Client recordings, but who do not need the Control Center functionality.
To install a standalone Viewer:
If you have an older version
of the Data Viewer or a Client already installed on the computer, you
must remove it. Use
the Windows Start, select Spector CNE from the Programs list and
Uninstall to remove a standalone
Viewer. Use the Control Center to remove a Client.
Restart the computer.
Run the Spector CNE Setup program
at the computer.
Respond Yes to the License
Agreement.
Provide your Serial Number.
Download the latest installation files to this computer.
On the Server Components panel,
deselect All Components.
Deselect all Server Components.
Select only the Data Viewer
for installation.

Click Finish when the installation is complete.

A Viewer user will not be able to open and view files from the Data Vault unless the Data Vault has been shared. See Sharing Data. |
