The Client

The Client Recorder captures all web sites visited by a user. In addition to the web site URL, the Client captures the total number of visits made to a web site, length of time a page was in focus, and how long there was keyboard or mouse activity during the visit.

You will be able to see that Jane Doe visited a job web site and spent a half hour actively using the site. You can even open and view the same web pages she visited.

Web Site recording reveals:

  • Which users are web surfing, how often, and when

  • Who is visiting inappropriate web sites

  • Total time a user spent at a non-work-related site

  • Whether a web page was open and forgotten or actively being used

  • Which web sites you should be blocking

  • Whether it makes sense to block all Internet access for periods during the day

What Is Recorded?

Each visit to a new page at a Web Site is considered one recorded event.  At each web site, the Client records everything you need to know about the user's visit:

If you have Keyword Alerts set up, the Client will also scan each web site visited for the keywords.

Web Browsers Recorded

The Client records web sites (and other locations) visited using Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, MSN Explorer, and AOL or any site accessed by applications using the  “WebBrowser” ActiveX control (as in MS Outlook and MS Access).

AOL Support
The Client will record all windows opened within the proprietary AOL 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, or 9.0 interfaces.

Web Browsers Not Recorded

The Client will NOT record Web sites from browsers that do not use the Internet Explorer "WebBrowser” control, including Opera.
