Block When Configuration

If the Client is installed and running, changes made will take effect after closing and then reopening the application (browser or email) on the Client computer. The exception is the Windows Program Manager or Windows Explorer (explorer.exe process), which must be restarted by a reboot.

Schedule

Block specific times the Client computer can access to the Internet.

To Block per Schedule

  1. Open the Client settings and then click on the Block When tab.

  2. Select the check box to enable recording and clear the check box to disable.
    If you do not select specific times, all times (24 hours/7-days per week) will be blocked by default.

  3. Click on the Add.
    The Block Period dialog box is displayed.

  4. Select the following:

  1. Start Blocking - Select the Day and the Time you wish to start blocking Internet access.

  2. End Blocking - Select the Day and Time you wish to end blocking of Internet access.

  1. Click OK.

  2. Repeat Steps 3 though 5 to add more times.

  3. Once all of the Block When by Schedule settings have been made, click OK.

Schedule Legend
  1. Red squares = blocked periods of Internet access

  2. Green squares = unblocked periods of Internet access

Example
Internet access has been blocked 9:00 P.M. until 7:00 A.M. Monday, Saturday and Sunday.

Users

Block specific times a Windows user can access to the Internet.

To Block Specific Users

For this feature to work, the Windows must be configured for use by different users; each with their own unique user name and password.

  1. Check the Only block the following Windows users (otherwise all users) box.  

  2. Click Add.
    The New User text box is displayed.

  3. Enter the Windows user name of the computer user you wish to block for the times specified earlier.

  4. Click OK.

  1. All or specific users can be denied Internet access 24-hours per day, seven days per week.  To do this, simply establish the user or users as described under Users above and add a check mark beside Only block during the following times (otherwise all times).  Do not set specific times.

  2. Once all of the Block When settings have been made, click OK.

Note If no specific user names are entered, all users of the computer will be denied Internet access during the times specified earlier.
