From this view, you can:
Change Client settings remotely
Start or stop recording
View Log File
Restart a Client
Find a Client
Shows Client's status such as an install or uninstall pending.
If View All Computers in Configure Computers view is enabled, all computers displayed in the Manage Computers view are also displayed in the Configure Computers view.

Note A computer cannot be listed in the Configure Computers view or Monitor Computers view without first being added in the Manage Computers view. |
The icon next to the computer name provides a visual clue to as to whether or not you will be able to perform the tasks in this menu.
Control Center
is able to communicate properly with the computer, a colored administrative
tools icon is displayed
Control Center
is unable to properly communicate with the computer, a shaded computer
icon is displayed
Computer Name identifies computer to network
Domain - Identifies network name
Description - Displays Computer description from System Properties > Computer description
OS - Windows version number; 5.1 = XP, 5.0 = 2000, 98=4.10, ME = 4.90, 2003=5.2, NT4=4.0
State - Indicates installation activity and enabled recording function including:
Pending - Installation is scheduled
Recording - User is logged on to the computer - Client is actively recording
Disabled - User is logged on to the computer - Client is not recording
Log Off - No user is logged on the computer - Client is not recording
Blank (empty) - Control Center cannot communicate with the Client on the computer.
Recording Tool State - Displays the current state for each recording tool.
Yes - Recording function is enabled
No - Recording function is disabled
To select and execute a command after selecting a Client computer, either right mouse click or use the Action menu to access tasks. Selecting All Tasks displays the following functions:
Delayed Settings (Summary) - When updating Group settings, shows those computers that haven't been updated yet.
Show Groups Only - Show domain groups
Show Group Computers - Show all Clients in a selected domain
Show All Computers - Show all computers in the network.
Find Client - Search by Client name on the selected domain network

The menu tasks include:
Client Settings - Modify Client monitoring settings.
Refresh - Refreshes and re-displays the data for the selected computer.
All Tasks - Includes:
Start Recording - Client begins recording immediately.
Stop Recording - Client stops recording immediately.
View Log File - View log file to solve problems or to relay information to technical support.
Restart Client - Initiate system system shutdown on client computer. See Manage Computers View for more information.
Find Client - Search for client on network. See Manage Computers View for more information.
Properties - Displays a tabbed dialog providing:
Computer - Read-only general information related to the administration of the computer.
Configure - Enable Record State (recording activated) and enable the individual recording tools.

Note It is possible for either command to execute, while not receiving a successful response. This is due to potential network problems, such as timeouts. If this occurs, the Control Center properly and automatically updates the status of the computer the next time it is checked during background updating. |
