Overview

If searching Web Sites events and you switch to the Chat/IM tab, perform a search and then switch back to the Web Sites tab, the Web Sites search results continues to be displayed.

Search Rules

Basic Search

  1. Select an event tab.

  2. Input a search string (word, words or phrases) in the Search text box.

  3. Click the .

  4. Search results are displayed.

Event Search

 

Advanced Search

Use Advanced Search crto create a specific search to narrow the returned search results.

Advanced Search

  1. Select an Viewer toolbar to view the events recorded by that tool.

  2. Click Advanced Search .

    The (Advanced) Search dialog box is displayed.

  3. Input a search string (word, words or phrases) in the Search for: text box.

  4. Select search options:

  • Exact upper and lower case match - The string case must also match.
    Example
    SOFT would match MICROSOFT but NOT Microsoft.

  • Include partial word match -  Anywhere the characters appear is considered a match.
    Example
    SOFT would match MICROSOFT.

    Example
    Using both the case match and partial word match, soft would NOT match MICROSOFT.

  • Search in - Determines in what Data Fields to search for a match. You must select at least one check box to use this option.

  • Date selection - Date values entered are inclusive. After initial search, use Refresh to select new dates.
    Example
    The date values 4/1/03 to 4/2/03 will include anything from 4/1/03 at 12:00:00 AM to 4/2/03 at 11:59:59 PM.

  • Search - Starts search.

  • Cancel - Closes (Advanced) Search dialog box

  1. Search results are displayed in Search Results mode.

  2. Click Close Search Results to return to normal view.
