Filtering Recorded Events

You may be interested in only reviewing a portion of the recorded data from the Client. The Spector Viewer > View menu allows you to filter recorded events by either users or applications.

Filtering By Users

The events displayed are only for the specific Windows user log for the specific Client if using the Monitor Computers mode. Events that may have been recorded by that Windows user log on for other computers can ONLY be viewed by using the Monitor Users mode.

View by Users

  1. Select View and then select View by Users.
    The Filter (by User) dialog box is displayed.

  2. In the Show the following Users: pane, select the users not to view (filter).

  3. Select the right arrow to remove those users from the Show the following Users: pane to the Hide the following Users: pane.

  4. Click OK.
    All displayed events for all viewing windows will ONLY display the recorded events for the specific Windows users you filtered.

  5. To restore the view to see all recorded events, select the View by Users and move ALL users into the Show the following Users: pane.

  6. Click OK.

Filtering By Application

You can filter what recorded events are viewed by specific applications. Selecting a event tab and searching from that tab

View by Applications

  1. Select View and then select View by Application.
    The
    Filter (by Applications) dialog box is displayed.

  2. In the left pane, select the application do not want to view and to filter from the displayed events

  3. Select the right arrow to remove those application from the left pane to the right pane (Hide the following Applications:)

  4. Click on the OK button. Viewing windows will ONLY display the recorded events for the specific Windows users

  5. To restore the view to see all recorded events, select the View by Users and move ALL users into the left pane

  6. Click on the OK button
