Loading Data Files Using Command Line

From a command line parameter, you can open the Viewer and load a specified Client data file.

To Open the Viewer and Load Client Data File from a Command Line

  1. From the Windows desktop, select Start and then Run.
    The Run dialog box is displayed.

  2. Type cmd and click OK.
    A command line window will open.

  3. Type C:\Program Files\ClientSoft\ClientCNE\Admin.exe /p "\\A\c$\\ClientData\B"

  4. A = computer name Viewer is install on

  5. B = Client recorded data to load

Example

C:\Program Files\ClientSoft\ClientCNE\Admin.exe /p

“\\Dell800rc\c$\ClientData\dell300rc”

Or

C:\Program Files\ClientSoft\ClientCNE\Admin.exe /p

“C:\archive\Joe”

 

Notes

  • The Viewer will scan the specified folder looking for data files with the default extension of .SDF. This file extension should not be changed. All data files found will be opened and the events loaded into the Viewer.

  • The data files will ONLY be loaded at the time the Viewer is started. Data files added or updated will not display unless the re-loaded.

  • Use the F5 key or the Viewer menu > View > Refresh command to reload the data files.

  • The Client's upload their recorded events to the Data Vault every five minutes.

  • The Data File Folder specified in the Viewer settings is the default folder from which to load the data file if the Viewer is run without a command line folder specification.
